Patrick and Chris from our UAV / Drone operations and remote sensing team presenting at Women & Fire Fighting Australasia Inc Conference 2018 in Wellington this week.  They were part of a workshop series at Wellington airport hanger looking at highlighting Air Operations at Wildfires in New Zealand.

Safety of drones operating with manned aircraft was a focus, together with methods of delivering up to date mapping and spatial information for firefighters on the ground.  Over 200 firefighters from Australasia came through in groups to see how drones and thermal technology is combined to gather intel on the fire ground and make a difference to firefighters on the ground.

Patrick and Chris while representing Interpine’s services deployed across NZ for vegetation wildfire; are also volunteer rural firefighters for Fire and Emergency NZ based in the Pumicelands Rural-Fire And Emergency New Zealand region (Lake Okareka Rural Fire Force, Okere Falls Rural Fire Force), so the perfect team to talk to the conference delegates on the effectiveness of thermal / infrared and drones on the fire ground.   Interpine is proud to support their volunteer work for Fire and Emergency NZ, while also using their skills for fire deployments across the country as Civil Aviation Authority Certified CAR102 RPAS / Drone Operators, and Esri ArcGIS silver partners in remote sensing technology.
