Our team upgraded the Cloud system servers Graphics processing unit (GPU) capability with Azure which will enable a better performance from ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop.
ArcGIS Pro will automatically detect and use hardware acceleration (the graphics card) if it’s available. ArcMap does not use hardware acceleration by default and users will now get a popup about the Hardware Acceleration when opening Arc GIS projects. The map won’t load until you answer the pop up with selecting the YES. Also select ‘Don’t show this dialog again’.
If you don’t get this popup, go to the Customize menu and choose ArcMap Options. Go to the Data View tab. Here you’ll find a checkbox for “Enable Hardware Acceleration for supported layers” as shown above.
Troubleshooting ArcMap will Not Open in Interpine GPU Enabled Azure Cloud Desktops
As mentioned above ArcGIS Pro will automatically detect and use hardware acceleration (the graphics card) if it’s available.
ArcMap does not use hardware acceleration by default and users will now get a popup about the Hardware Acceleration when opening ArcGIS projects. The map won’t load until you answer the pop up with selecting the YES. We recommend you select “Don’t show this dialog again” and it won’t halt the loading process again in the future. Some users have noted this pop up might open behind the ArcMap window. Use ALT-TAB to bring the pop up it to the front.
