Yesterday, our team had the opportunity to be featured on camera by a local film crew as we conducted LiDAR-enhanced forest inventory survey plots in the Northern Territory. This exciting project involves gathering LiDAR data from above using planes, followed by ground surveys to collect datasets of training plots. These datasets are crucial for our AI-based LiDAR-enhanced forest inventory system, which is designed to calculate forest yield tables across the forest. This innovative approach allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the forest’s structure and health, ultimately contributing to more effective forest management and conservation efforts.
