Key Features
Efficient Remote Forest Inventory Assessment
Often referred to as QADI assessment, our innovative tool leverages LiDAR technology to deliver precise and efficient remote forest inventory assessments, streamlining the planning of silvicultural operations.
TreeTools Online is designed to utilize publicly available or dedicated airborne and drone-collected LiDAR data. It provides comprehensive forest inventory outputs, including tree locations, canopy detection, stocking levels, and canopy height models, all ready for foresters to use.
Inform Thinning Operations
Provide mapping products with stocking estimates for thinning machines and operators to use in field.
This example shows low, medium, high stocking with an estimate of the total trees per grid cell (25x25m) and an estimate of the tree to be removed to meet specification shown in brackets.
Getting Started with Our Software
Step-by-Step Guide
1
Prepare LiDAR Data
2
Submit Data for Analysis
Upload your data as a ZIP file. Leave the heavy lifting to us and we will email you when your data is ready to download.
3
Load into GIS to Review
Load the data into your own forest information systems for analysis and mapping.
Upload Your Project Now
Simply enter your email address and upload a zipped folder containing your LiDAR data (*.laz) and a stand boundary ESRI shape file (*.shp). These should be zipped into a single compressed folder. You will get an email with confirmation the data has been received for processing, then an email to download the outputs when complete. Your outputs will be available for a limited time (7 days).

Your Questions Answered
How do I download LiDAR Data from LINZ?
Follow our tutorial on how to download data from the LINZ Data Service or Open Topography to access public LiDAR datasets..
How long will it take to get results?
Sit back, we will take care of the heavy lifting. This might take 4-12hrs depending on the amount of data or the demand on our servers.
How big of an area can I get analysed?
The system is designed to help you with a stand level analysis, with typical forest area of up to 100ha. Want to upload large areas reach out and chat.
